On our flight home from Hawaii, Sammy and I read a book that showed kids playing with construction vehicles. “I want those for my birthday, daddy,” she said. Really? “Oh yes,” she assured me.
So, a few days later, I swung by Target and found some very big and very cool trucks. The one above is, obviously, a dump truck. The other was a John Deere front-end loader.
On birthday morning, Sammy came downstairs to find two big presents sitting on the table. She was quiet. Then she peeked under the paper. She looked at me and smiled.
A few minutes later she had the loader filled with colored pencils, which she neatly transfered to the dump truck. Success.
